This is a port of the original OS 8 version, made under permission from Pangea Software, Inc. It was a breathtaking showcase of the capabilities of the newfangled QuickDraw 3D technology. It was a pack-in game on Macs that came out around that time. Nanosaur was released in 1998 by Pangea Software as a Mac exclusive. Verdict The game is only 1.99 right now, but its still not much of a deal - especially compared to Cro Mag and Bugdom. Buy the full version on the Mac App Store. Originally released in United States in 2002. Nanosaur 2 was reviewed playing Version 1.0. NANOSAUR 2 This is the full version of the game, but it will only play in demo mode unless you have a serial to unlock it. The general rule to playing the game is “if it moves, kill it or it'll kill you.” You only have 20 minutes to collect all 5 egg species so being efficient about your actions is critical. Nanosaur Extreme is a game action developed by Pangea Software, Inc. You can jump, swim, run around, jet around, shoot stuff, etc. GPS Locator: For figuring out where you are and where you should go.Temporal Compass: For finding time portals.Jet Pack: For flying over things that might kill you. However, an unnamed rebel group of Nanosaurs stole the eggs for their own purpose: creating a fighting force against Earth. Fusion Blaster: A multi-purpose weapon for killing things. Nanosaur 2 takes place shortly after the original Nanosaur, and assumes that is has been completed successfully, and that valuable eggs are now in the hands of the Nanosaur race.Nanosaur: Hatchling is a continuation of the original Nanosaur storyline, yet this time you get to fly a pteradactyl whos loaded with hi-tech weaponry, and the game is much larger than the original 1998 game. The “primitive” dinosaurs will attack you as you try to get their eggs, but just remember that it’s for their own good that you blast them into oblivion!īeing a dinosaur from the future, you are equipped with several pieces of technology to help you in your mission. Play as Pterodactyl Nanosaur, sent to these alien worlds to battle the rebel forces and bring them back the stolen eggs. So dev, the choice is yours: either implement my suggestions or lose your customer base cause all I can say is that I already heard enough people mention the complaints I just reiterated and after buying this game they never again bought another app made by your team. You are a dinosaur from the future who has traveled back in time to collect the eggs of 5 dinosaur species before the giant asteroid hits the earth. The second problem is that while adventure mode is adventurous it's way too expert like if you want to actually bring all the eggs to the wormhole. As the last Nanosaur egg remaining that hatches, you set out to recover the eggs from various worlds where they have been taken to. Wow dev, after seeing this game for years on the app store you never thought hey I could put some AI on the multiplayer modes and make it single/multiplayer modes. That means that if nobody is available online in your specific game mode you can't enjoy a good race, battle, or capture the dragon's eggs event. Cro-Mag Rally and Nanosaur 2 haven’t been rewritten for modern Macs, unfortunately, but you can play the games’ ports on iOS and iPadOS as a 1.99 download (there’s also a free version of. Nope, that's not the only thing you need cause game center multiplayer is required. The first problem is that to enjoy a race, battle or capture the dragon eggs you need an internet connection. While this game is expensive, it could be fun that is if the dev actually improved the user experience. That means that whenever you make a quick adjustment to dodge some trees or any number of other things that you’re trying to avoid, the camera kind of jerks around in this crazy way that is super difficult to look at after very long. When you turn in any direction, the camera will pan toward that direction, and it does that movement quite quickly. Here’s where it falls on its face though… The camera literally makes me sick when I try to play this game with a controller. The frame rate for this version is super smooth on my 2020 iPad Pro and the gyro controls aren’t too bad. The gameplay is just a bit more engaging since you fly in this one and have more to interact with. I never played Nanosaur 2 until now, but I would say that it is the better game of the two. It was very simple but I loved dinosaurs and the gameplay was good enough. I played the first Nanosaur a bunch as a little kid and really liked it.
